No need for the government to repress or redirect the media spotlight, when it can be done by the private sector for the more lofty and altruistic ideal of capitalism! Perhaps we'll come up with a benchmarking tool that determines how biased (and in what areas) our trusted seach engines are. "I'm feeling lucky" to have the ability to still put a direct entry into a browser. I can see this layer of the web being removed from the casual user, eventually being so heavily burdened/regulated/leveraged that you won't be able to check your email without watching 2 minutes of adds...oh wait...that's already happened...
